What is GameKeeper?
When you boot up most triple-A (and some indie) video game titles, you’ll often be greeted with a login screen prompting you to register an account with the developer or publisher. There are often many benefits for both the player and the developer/publisher.
For many smaller indie developers, a major online distribution service, such as Steam or the Epic store, are the most accessible way to achieve some of these things, and a bespoke option is out of the question. GameJolt offers a great free API for developers to use, although this isn’t the best option if you plan to distribute your games elsewhere.
That’s where GameKeeper comes in! GameKeeper is the back-bone of Mytholite’s own online services. Our own in-house tool, developed to suit our needs.
We based GameKeeper heavily on GameJolt’s API, keeping things as developer friendly as possible but adding features from our wishlist until we had exactly what we needed.
